No signature found. Oscar Bach (1884–1957) was a German-born metalsmith, designer, and sculptor, born in Breslau, Germany (now Wrocław, Poland). He studied in Berlin, worked in Hamburg, and moved to the United States in 1911 to establish his own studio in New York City. Early Life: Born as Oscar Bruno Bakstk in 1884, he studied at the Imperial Academy of Art in Berlin from 1898 to 1902. Career in Europe: Before moving to the U.S., he worked as a designer in Berlin for the German, British, and Italian governments. He was known for his work with metal, including a prize-winning bed for Kaiser Wilhelm II. Move to the U.S.: Bach emigrated to the United States in 1911 (some sources say 1913), settling in New York to start his own business. Legacy: He was a renowned artist in decorative metalwork, creating items like the bronze plaques for the RCA building.
